Profile
Mr. Kohman offers
retirement and estate planning, business and individual tax preparation,
accounting and auditing, business valuation and litigation support
services to individual and business clients in many industries.
Since his initial certification as a CPA in 1984, he has obtained
experience and knowledge that allows his clients realize significant
savings of time, money and peace of mind.
Steven has maintained
his national certification as a Certified Valuation Analyst (CVA)
since 1997. This designation comes pursuant to fulfilling NACVA's
rigorous testing, education, and experience requirements. As head
of the firm's business valuation department, Steven has helped many
clients complete tax-saving gifting and succession planning strategies
using family limited partnerships involving valuation discounts.
He also provides essential valuation consulting services and prepares
valuation reports in divorce situations. His valuation experience
also proves valuable in litigation support cases by preparing calculation
of damages reports. Steven has provided expert witness testimony
in many of these cases.
Steven has maintained
his designation as a certified specialist in estate planning since
1998. Through his education and experience in estate planning, he
helps clients to transfer estate assets to succeeding generations
with maximum estate/gift tax savings through the use of various
trusts, tax elections, will provisions, and valuation decisions.
Through the use of specialized software he has developed, Steven
works closely with retirement-minded clients to model financial
plans to determine how their assets will provide for them throughout
their lives and into successive generations. Steven has also developed
a comprehensive program to help clients decide whether a conversion
of their regular IRA account to a Roth IRA is appropriate.
